The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, by William Finn and Rachel Sheinkin, is directed by Cary Mitchell along with music director Vera Allen.
In this year's spring musical production, an eclectic group of six students vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming "ding" of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves! At least the losers get a juice box. A riotous ride, complete with audience participation, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a delightful den of comedic genius. This production is recommended for ages 10 and older.
The performance schedule is below:
Thursday, March 3 at 7:30 PM (Student night- $5.00 admission for students)
Friday, March 4 at 7:30 PM
