Long time Track & Field Coach Brian Schoch was awarded a Bobcat Award at a recent Board of Education meeting. Schoch is one of the most successful coaches in the history of Grandview Heights Schools athletics. For over 12 years, he humbly led the Boys and Girls Cross-Country and Track & Field teams to new heights. Most importantly, he created a positive culture and competitive program for our student-athletes. Schoch recently retired in order to spend more time with his family and cheer on his children as they enter school sports.
From 2009-2015, Schoch coached Cross Country. He coached Track & Field from 2008-2015 and then again from 2017-2022. Under Schoch's leadership, Grandview Heights High School garnered 14 Mid-State League Championships, 12 District Championships, and had multiple State Qualifying teams.
Schoch summarized his experience by saying, "Mostly, I'm proud that we ran a competitive, fun program where kids seemed to enjoy themselves, were treated well, and were pushed to get better."
