Power of the Pen is a writing competition for Ohio’s seventh and eighth grade students. Teams of six students first compete at a District level, then students must qualify for the Regional and State competitions. Students who qualified for the March 15th Regional competition held in New Albany include:
7th grade - Sophie Beacom, Sam Carter, Garrett Culbertson, Nya Feinstein, and Nate Pommering
8th grade - Devin Corley, Penny Dow, Calvin Furbee, and Kendal Ritchey
Competing against 38 other middle school teams, Nya and Calvin, placing 9th and 14th respectively, have qualified for the May State Competition to be held at The College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio. The teams are awaiting final results to determine if others will also qualify.
