The Grandview Heights High School Boys Soccer Team scrimmaged the Upper Arlington Boys Soccer Team on Saturday, August 8, at 5 p.m. at Upper Arlington's Marv Moorehead Memorial Stadium. This scrimmage game will be the start of a new tradition as the teams will be vying for the Colin Jourdan Memorial Trophy.
Colin Jourdan was a 2015 graduate of Grandview Heights Heights School who passed away a few months ago, just days after his high school graduation, as a result of an accidental fall. Colin was an outstanding soccer player who helped lead Grandview Heights to the state championship game in 2014. Colin was also a long-time teammate of many current and recently graduated Upper Arlington soccer players as a member of his club team, Santos.
Presenting the Colin Jourdan Memorial Trophy are Santos and Upper Arlington players. Grandview Heights teammates accepted the trophy along with Colin's parents. Win or tie, Grandview Heights will retrain the trophy until next year's scrimmage.
All contributions in Colin's memory may be made to the Grandview Heights Soccer Program.
