Senior Walk 2016

The Class of 2016 strolled down memory lane on Tuesday, May 17, but not for the last time as they will soon become Grandview Heights High School alumni.  Seventy seniors started their walk at Stevenson Elementary School where approximately 80% of the students were kindergarten students.  Students and staff lined the hallways and clapped them out.

Next stop was Edison Intermediate/Larson Middle School where, again, students and staff lined the hallways to wish them well.  The Seniors then strolled up Fairview Avenue where underclassmen, parents, and staff lined the sidewalks.  And finally, the Seniors passed through the alumni gate to Bobcat Stadium where they released blue and white balloons on Anderson Field.

This relatively new tradition in our historic school district was created to honor, inspire, and celebrate our students.  The walk allows seniors, teachers, and staff to share one last moment as students and staff and it allows our seniors to be able to show appreciation to all the teachers and staff who supported and inspired them through the years. It is also inclusive of our younger students and reinforces the bond that all Bobcats share.

Commencement for the 101st graduating class of Grandview Heights High School will be Sunday, May 29, at 1 p.m. in the Grandview Heights High School Auditorium.  For more information regarding graduation activities, contact the high school office at 614-485-4000.
